On top of the standard cruises, OWE offers hiking trips, kayaking, overnight field camping and even scuba diving on their expeditions. They are 2-time winners of the World's Leading Polar Expedition Operator, in 2005 and 2009, awarded by the World Travel Awards.
Two vessels are operated in the Arctic - the Antarctic Dream (code ATD), which we've promoted in the Antarctic voyages for 2 years now; and the new M/V Plancius (code PLA), launched in 2009 after an extensive refit and conversion from research vessel into a modern, comfortable passenger-carrying exploration cruiser.
We offer a selection of cruises in the Arctic region on these two vessels - covering Spitsbergen, Greenland, Scotland, Iceland and the Faroes. For all its apparent similarity to the Antarctic region, there is plenty here that makes the Arctic regions different - wildlife, birdlife, and the heritage of human habitation.
